New Emerson Township Hall

Old Emerson Township Hall

Beebe Corners - 1910

Emerson Township is located in the central, near-eastern region of Gratiot County, with its southwest corner touching the tip of Ithaca, the county seat.
This is a major agricultural area with wheat, soybeans, dry beans, sugar beets and corn the primary products.

The township was organized in 1855 and named after William Imisson, an English Pioneer.

A major feature of this area includes the Beebe Methodist Church (circa 1879), located at the intersection of Tyler and Baldwin Roads (Beebe) in the township’s center.
